I stumbled upon this place when I was in town for a conference last week. After stopping by several other bars/pool halls looking for someone to play, I ended speaking with the bartender Bobby. After hearing about not being able to find a good game, he picked up the phone and called some friends of his. I immediately felt so at home that I returned after my conference each night to meet up with the same group of friends.

Don't like pool? No problem! You can sit at the bar and heckle cheesy movies on AMC with the other regulars. You may have thought Roadhouse was a great action flick back in the day, but you need to see it now. It was like Mystery Science Theater with a liquor license.

They also have pinball and a few other video games, and they serve food as well.

Bobby: Thank you for the hospitality and introducing me to everyone. Shout out to my new friends for making me feel like part of the neighborhood (Paulie, Adam, Kyle, Trixie, and Brian). Please let me return the favor should you ever travel to San Francisco.

I'm updating my review for a few reasons (the idiots I was complaining about were fired (albeit overdue), new people were hired, and everyone deserves a second chance.

I've been back less than half a dozen times since my scathing review and I'm super honestly thrilled to say it's SO MUCH better!!

The new bartendress (Becks) is fantastic! Where was she a few years ago! She's a welcomed addition! Great attitude! To her I'm new. She's the bomb!

Bobby, Chuck, and Brian are still here, thankfully! Add Becks and everything is back to Best!

I'm so happy to return!!! Thank you Commodore!

Commodore lounge is the perfect place to meet friends for a cocktail or beer. The staff are all highly knowledgeable and take solid effort to make sure you have everything you need. Great place to meet before, during or after a Timbers game. Very close to the stadium. The owner is also a great guy who I've been served by several times. Awesome local small business worthy of supporting. I believe they recently updated their menu too? Even better!

Even though the amazing cook Tim is now gone, and so is the incredible fried chicken, I still love Commodore.  I miss you Tim, your fried chicken and your rich and gooey mac'n cheese.

I still have the drinks to love.  Thank you whiskey for staying.  Please never leave me or I just might curl up and die.  I love that the awesome bartenders who know me by name and by my drink.  It's nice to have a local bar to frequent that treats you so well.

Over the years, me and several of my friends have hosted our birthday parties at Commodore.  I so appreciate that they set up the back room with a long table, complete with tablecloth.  We always bring our own paper plates and plastic silverware so the bar has less clean up to do.  But seriously, they go out of their way to make our birthdays special and I thank you for that.

I try to avoid this place on a Timber's game day just because I can't stand being surrounded by obnoxious Timber's fans pushing and shoving all over the place, shouting as loud as they can just because they are bros.  If you are a Timber's fan, don't hate.  I know you are not ALL douchebags but GAWD, some of you truly are.  You know I speak the truth.

On a non-game day, this place is super fun and laid back.  It's also quite fun on Friday and Saturday nights.

    Love, T.

I loved the Commodore at it's old location. I love the new location more so it's hard to understand the terrible experience I just had here. I've lived in NW/Goose Hollow since I graduated college for 10 years so it's just sad.

    "What's your two favorite beers?"

    "IPA is good"

(I didn't ask you anything difficult like your name)

    "What's it called?"

(Bartender turns on his heels and walks away.)

(I walk across to the street to the Marathon where I'll stay.)
